Updated October 4, 2026. This section supplements the policy for data processed by the browser extension.
The SocialEcho extension is operated by SAASBASE PTE. LTD. Contact support@socialecho.net for privacy, access and deletion requests.
The extension reads public profile, post and video information already loaded on the TikTok, YouTube or Instagram page being viewed, for analytics, filtering, comparison and export. It does not read the browser's entire history. YouTube video identifiers may be sent to api.socialecho.net for metric supplementation; when unavailable, displayed page estimates remain.
Instagram currently offers public-content analytics and team quick replies, not video transcripts or comment-list translation. Reply drafts may use browser-local translation. Public Instagram data includes post type, title/caption, publication time, likes, comments and available view counts. Only allowlisted public-content responses on the top-level www.instagram.com page are read; requests are not modified and cookies or direct messages are not read.
Captions on TikTok and YouTube are obtained from the platform or its caption CDN. TikTok/YouTube caption and comment translation, and supported reply-draft translation, use browser-provided on-device translation in version 1.0.3; the browser may download language models. The production extension does not send this text to SocialEcho cloud translation or AI breakdown services, which are not enabled in this version.
When you initiate sign-in, the extension transfers the existing business session only from the SocialEcho sign-in tab it opened and verifies it with SocialEcho. Session tokens, name, email, avatar, team and connected-account information, analytics reports and team replies support those visible features. It does not read passwords or collect TikTok, YouTube or Instagram authentication cookies. Confirming competitor monitoring sends the selected team and public target account identifier to SocialEcho. The extension never sends comments, posts, likes or follows for you.
When users open registration from the extension, the registration URL includes the fixed source marker browser_extension and one of the fixed source categories browser_extension_tiktok, browser_extension_youtube or browser_extension_instagram. These markers contain no user identifier, viewed account, credential or internal authentication state. Account registration and attribution processing are governed by the main SocialEcho privacy policy.
The extension also stores temporary onboarding visits per tab in session storage (up to ten minutes of validity), and remembers which feature tips have been dismissed locally.
Usage statistics are enabled by default and can be disabled in settings. Feature event name and time, and optionally platform, interface language, onboarding feature, page category, onboarding result and a sign-in-flow identifier, are sent to SocialEcho's events endpoint. Requests may also generate server logs governed by the main privacy policy.
Tokens use browser session storage. Signing out clears extension authentication, team reply caches and selected account data without signing out of the website. Public profile caches are limited to 20 profiles / 5 MiB and expire after seven days; they can be cleared in settings. Team replies are separated by user and team, limited to 500 replies / 256 KiB per team and three teams / 768 KiB overall, and expire after 24 hours with cleanup on access. Only loaded pages are cached. Instagram comparison selection uses compareAccount:instagram; public-profile cache keys use pc:instagram:*, currently pc:instagram:v3:<handle>, under the same size and expiry limits. Preferences remain locally until changed or the extension is removed. Removing the extension does not delete data already submitted to SocialEcho.
Server retention and deletion follow the main SocialEcho privacy policy. Contact support@socialecho.net to exercise your rights. No fixed, unverified backend retention period or AI processing location is promised here. Disclosure must be updated before cloud AI text processing is enabled.
SocialEcho's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The extension's use of user data adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including Limited Use requirements. Data is processed only for visible functionality related to the extension's single purpose. It is not sold or used for personalized advertising, unrelated purposes or creditworthiness assessments. Transfers are restricted to those necessary to provide or improve such visible functionality, with user consent, as required by law, or for qualifying mergers and acquisitions under the applicable policies.
